DIY - Postural Check Chart

Chiropractors are the undisputed specialists of spine related conditions, they have focused on spinal conditions for over 100 years. One of the most popular tools of the chiropractic profession is posture screening, it is a good first step in detecting any problems you or your family might have.

The more out of balance your spine becomes, the more it interferes with correct muscle and ligament movement. The result is a loss of mobility and strength, and symptoms such as pain and stiffness.

While your muscles might ache, the real problem often lies in the spine. Trials with thousands of patients have shown that chiropractic care can ease pain, stiffness and lack of mobility caused by poor posture.

Use this simple chart to assess the posture of each member of your family. If you note a head tilt, a curve in the spine, a hump in the upper back or a big curve in the lower back, there may be a spinal problem and a check-up is in order.

If you note that one shoulder is way lower than the other, or one hip is much higher...these are obvious signs of an imbalance.

If the view from behind is twisted, or off to one side...call now!

Finally, if you have two scales, stand with one foot on each, don't look down, have someone else check your weight on each scale. Stand for a minute to settle, relax and actually try to stand balanced. If your weight is different by 10% or more, come and see us, we will save you a fortune in shoes. (A little humour in an otherwise dry subject).
